"Will you just tell us what happened?!"

i.e. "Why did you go from separated to divorce-divorce??"

For my first AMA (Ask Me Anything), I’m taking on a question I’ve been asked multiple times by multiple people in multiple ways for almost ten months now. And that question is, essentially: “What happened back in April? Why did you and your ex go from living together seemingly happily as friends to the shit hitting the fan and you now finally going through a divorce?”

It would seem obvious to most people in a situation such as this to mind their business! Well I did say ASK ME ANYTHING 😑 And I’m choosing to “answer” this question now because I want to get it out of the way, for reasons that will become obvious as you read on.

I get it. All the rules seem to change when you write about your life publicly. They seem to change when you write a book about your marriage and separation, specifically. And they seem to change when you write about the abrupt transition from an amicable separation to KABOOM-divorce-divorce as you’re going through it. Like, stop beating around the bush already and just tell us.
